Safety Information
Read this before the first night. Your baby's safety is your responsibility as their parent or carer; this page sets out how the LIOR Held Swaddle Sack is meant to be worn. We make no sleep or health claims for it.
Newborn stage: the arms-in sack
- Always place your baby on their back to sleep, every sleep, day and night.
- Fit it properly. Go by the garment length and the checks in our size guide, not your baby's birthday. Loose fabric around the head and chest is the thing to avoid.
- Stop at the first signs of rolling. Once your baby tries to turn over they need their arms free to push up, so move to arms-free sleepwear. Watch for the first attempt, not the first success. Every arms-in swaddle has this same hard stop.
- Keep the sleep space bare. The sack is meant to be worn on its own — no loose blankets, pillows, bumpers or soft toys in the crib alongside it.
- Keep the face clear. Check that no part of the garment can cover the nose or mouth or get in the way of your baby's breathing.
- Check the zip. Do not use the sack if the zip is damaged, and make sure it is done up properly.
- Do not let your baby overheat. Dress them for the room and check the back of the neck, not the hands.
- Use it in a crib or cot, on a firm flat surface.
- Ask a professional first if your baby was born early or has any condition affecting their breathing, hips or sleep.
